The Pashupatinath Temple is found in the middle of a religious complex regrouping several different temples, and is easily distinguished from the others by its golden rooftops. The Katmandou Valley, where the Pashupatinath Temple is located, is a beautiful area, rich with cultural heritage. The sacred Bagmati River runs through the temple and the faithful are cremated on its banks. This temple is one of the Nepal's most impressive, the religious fervour found here is incredible and is something very much worth seeing.
 The sadhus, bodies fully painted with ash and either naked or dressed in orange cloth, these men are the emblematic figures of the temple. They are the holiest amongst the holy; these men have chosen to give up a life in society to dedicate their lives to prayer and worship for the god Shiva. There is a forest overlooking the temple and bordering the ghats. This proximity has led to communities of monkeys making this area their home and they beg for food from passer-bys.
