Monolkiri is a region in the north-east of Cambodia, on the border with Vietnam, whose name means "meeting of hills".
My suggestion
Go and explore the many water falls throughout the region, hire a scooter or a motorbike and explore the surroundings whose countryside is completely different to the rest of Cambodia.
In northeast Cambodia, Mondulkiri is a province experiencing a total transformation. It doesn't seem to be taking the right path of development while sacrificing its authenticity. It's a shame.
My suggestion
Far from the pathetic elephant rides like everywhere else in Asia, it's possible to care for an elephant all day here. Huge interactivity.
