The immense desert covers almost half of Botswana and crosses both the Namibian and South African borders. Most tourists cross it little by little, stopping at bush camps along the way.

My suggestion
The best way to explore this enormous desert is to hire a four-wheel drive in Gabarone or South Africa. Bear in mind that it's obligatory to travel in a convoy of at least two cars, equipped with a satellite telephone for security reasons.
