The peninsula which closes the Melbourne bay at the south east of the city, Mornington is surrounded by two marine areas, the bay to the north and the ocean to the south.
My suggestion
The peninsula is as interesting in the summer, when you can make the most of the sea, as in winter when the coast is vibrant with a dramatic appearance.

The Mornington Peninsula is located south-east of Melbourne, in Victoria. Its beaches are very popular during summer.
My suggestion
On the way from Melbourne, stop at Frankston! You can eat fish and chips on the beach.
This part of Australia is unique and distinguishes itself from the other part of Queensland and the rest of the country by its impressive rain forests, deserted beaches, and very diverse animal and plant life. You must have heard people talk about the "wet tropics" which is home 36% of the country's animal species.
