What our travellers think of their stay

Puerto Piramidès is a town on the Valdés Peninsula, in the province of Chubut. Its a good base from which to visit the Peninsula. The town is well named because its cliffs do look like pyramids. Very pretty!

My suggestion

If you choose to make Puerto Pyramidès your base, you will be close to all the main attractions on the Peninsula. On the other hand, it is very small! If you want to go out then you need to go to Puerto Madryn (which is bigger and offers more excursions, etc.).

At 100km from Puerto Madryn, every year almost 800 whales arrive in the bay off Puerto Pirámides. This is the port from where you can go whale watching.

My suggestion

Some boats that seat 25 passengers will squeeze in up to 50 people. If you have the choice, go out on a Zodiac. It's more expensive but worth every penny!
