I enjoyed myself and would like to visit during spring, summer or early days and expand my trip to other places
The best parts:
The tour guide. The weather was not greatest but tour guide made everything fun, interesting and was easy to talk too. She made things worth while when the weather was so bad that most would just want to sit inside
The worst parts:
The weather but no one can control that. Also, I wish Russia would allow flexibility with visas. I would have stayed longer or went other places but the visa is too exact were others have multiple entries and allow 30 day visits I wish this site did more to help with that.

Our driver, Vitaly, was great. Even though his English was very limited he made every effort to help us and communicated with us with the use of his smart phone. The local guides in the 3 towns we toured were also very informative and welcoming. When I forgot my briefcase in Moscow Jana was extremely helpful in making sure that I got it back when we returned to Moscow on our way via train to St. Petersburg.
The best parts:
Loved looking into the early Russian history in the Golden Ring.
The worst parts:
We stayed two nights at the Nikolavesky Possad in Suzdal. While the resort is quite impressive we were housed in a building all by ourselves far from the main building. At dinners we were the only patrons in the restaurants next to our building. Would have been nice to be with other quests.

The trip started in Moscow, where we spent a few days visiting the most famous sites including the Kremlin and St Basils, We also took in Russian art and the fabulous underground and our guide even let us go 'off piste' and we saw Tolstoys house and Chekov's grave at our request. We then took a short train ride (1.5 hrs) to Vladimir for a city tour and a short drive to Suzdal where we were introduced to the amazing wooden architecture of the area and also some beautiful churches and monasteries. Our next destination was Kostroma to see the glorious Ipatyev Monastery and the sun came out too! Next on the list was Yaroslavl which mixes the old and new and a fabulous view of the Volga. The same guide took us to Rostov, the old capital of Russia. Then we had an overnight train to St Petersburg. The journey takes 12 hours and is an experience in itself. Fortunately our guide was there to make sure we were in the right place at the right time. St Petersburg was our final destination and is a stunning, bustling modern city that blends the beauty of Venice and its canals with the grandeur of Paris. With a trip to the Winter Palace and also Peterhof it was difficult to decide which was the most beautiful. We were also very fortunate to be in St Peterburg for Russia Day so we got to see the parade down the Nevsky Prospect.
The best parts:
We thought this trip was fantastic. The selection of towns/cities to visit made us feel that we had experienced the true variety of what Russia has to offer. It made us both want to come home and learn more about the country and its history. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the drivers were courteous and prompt. There was also enough 'free time' to allow us to experience Russia our own way. A fabulous holiday.
The worst parts:
It was unfortunate that we didn't get to visit the Cosmonaut Museum in Moscow as we were both looking forward to this but the exchange to a boat trip in St Petersburg was appreciated. Not much to see in Old Arbat Street on a wet Monday.

I think I've said it all above
The best parts:
With the help of Evaneos Travel, and particularly their agent in Moscow Olga, we were able to preplan our holiday starting in Moscow, through to St Petersburg and finishing up in Tallin, Estonia. Olga's patience with us meant that we finished up with exactly what we wanted, and we saw the best of Moscow and St Petersburg in the limited time we had. The whole holiday was fantastic, from travel to accommodation through to the fantastic sites that we visited. Particular mention must be given to our two guides in Moscow and St Petersburg, they were so knowledgeable and gave fascinating insights to the places we visited.

We visited Moscow for 4 days and travelled to st Petersburg by Sapsan for 5 nights. It was in St Petersburg that we had arranged trips by tour guide.
The best parts:
We had an amazingly knowledgeable tour guide and as we had organised privately before we arrived, we were able to arrange exactly what we wanted and when.
The worst parts:
We were pleased with everything.
