Get there by car from Muscat, it's around a 3 hour journey You'll be able to follow the coast and pass through traditional Omani villages.

Some fishermen leaving the lagoon to go to sea sometimes offer boat tours. It is really worth the trip to go with them to discover the city's beauty as seen from the sea.
