Montenegro
Montenegro is a very interesting country with much more history and beauty than we could have ever imagined! It was good experience to have the help of Nikola's agency by our side the whole way making sure our trip was trouble free. Although in hind site, my personal preferences would dictate some changes to the itinerary, I thought they performed very well in setting up this tour.
The best parts:
We enjoyed having a driver that was able to find the sites that seemed somewhat remote. Kotor being the jewel of the country is the location we enjoyed best, it was easy to see Perast and the coastline from their. The Lipa Cave was also a highlight. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the region and history, and able to answer just about every question we had.
The worst parts:
It would have been more relaxing if the driving was safer, they tend to follow very close to cars in front and take corners from the oncoming traffic lane. We had two very close near collisions due to poor driving habits. Made us very uncomfortable.
Getting over the border of Croatia into Montenegro was also a challenge and it would have been helpful if we would have been informed up front that it is a potential problem that may come up so we could have anticipated the delay, or have the driver check the website for whether the border is open or not before going directly their.

This was a trip of a lifetime and we will definitely be back to Montenegro, and will use Evaneos again. We were totally charmed by the hospitality, the food, the landscape, the culture... We made some amazing memories which we will cherish forever.
The best parts:
There were many wonderful things about our holiday, it's hard to choose!
1) The ease of the holiday once we arrived. Everything was taken care of and we didn't have to worry about anything. All our transfers were timely and our tour guides kept to the schedule.
2) We LOVED visiting the farm where we received a delicious lunch of homemade products. This was a real highlight. The food generally was of a very high quality.
3) We were particularly satisfied with our accommodation in the second location. The surroundings were stunning, our hosts were lovely, and the food they provided was great.
4) We really enjoyed the lake tour. This was a real high point of the holiday.
5) Everyone we met were extremely friendly - our hosts and our tour guides. We loved chatting to them and learning about local culture and history.
The worst parts:
1) Our accommodation in Budva was not quite satisfactory. Although the apartment itself was fine - nothing special but good enough - we were really disturbed by very loud music from local bars until 1a.m./1.30 a.m. We managed this by staying out late and going to sleep late, but this was not our preference and it wouldn't be suitable for older guests. We did not particularly like Budva. Although the old town and beaches were beautiful, we did not anticipate that it would be such a party town, which was not what we had in mind.
2) During our transfers on days 3 and 4, the car we were driven in did not have seat belts. We were very disturbed by this as it felt very unsafe - especially during the drive up the mountain. We understand that seat belts are not always customary in Montenegro, but they are a legal requirement in the UK and to us, it is a basic requirement for basic safety. We really hope that future tourists will not have this experience, as it was potentially very dangerous.

Regarding the Budva accommodation, your budget was minimal and I had to give my best to fit your holiday with all guidings, tickets, transfers, Budva accommodation that is near the beach in it. What I was looking for was a clean and neat self-contained apartment so that Jean can be as safe as possible regarding her allergies.
In Montenegro we do not have a rule to put on seat belts, that's why we didn't pay attention to it. If you had informed me, as we kept in touch on a daily basis during your holidays, I would make sure you get another car that fits your needs.
I am glad you went back home happy and as you, girls, promised upon your return, let's plan your next Montenegrin adventure soon! There's so much you still didn't see! :)
