Mount Bromo is a volcano to the east of the island of Java. It was the highlight I hoped to experience during my trip to Indonesia and I certainly wasn't disappointed!

An active volcano culminating at 7641 feet in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java.
My suggestion
Dress warmly, bring along scarves and jumpers, even gloves for those who are sensitive to the cold!

Mount Bromo is definitely a very touristy place but a must see on the island of Java.
My suggestion
Think about taking warm clothes because it's very cold in the morning (especially at 4am).

Mount Bromo, an active volcano situated on Java island, is part of the Tengger massif that culminates at about 7600 ft.
My suggestion
To avoid the crowd, do not take the jeep excursion, but go on foot to the intermediate "secret" viewpoint instead of all the way to the top.

My suggestion
There are 2 ways to see Bromo. If you're pressed for time, there's a view just outside the village where few people go. From there, you'll be able to catch a motor-taxi that will take you to the foot of the volcano.
