Alausi is a small town perched at an altitude of 2,600 metres and located around 120 kilometres from Riobamba. The mountains all around the town create a perfect setting and offer a wonderful environment for hiking.

My suggestion

There really isn't anything to do in Alausí, yet tourists come here in large numbers. The one thing of interest, and the thing everyone wants to do, is the train trip to Nariz del Diablo, It's absolutely essential to book your tickets in advance.
