When to go in China?
Generally, spring and autumn are the most clement periods for going to China. October, April-May, and in a lesser measure, September are the the favorite months for Chinese visitors, as well as foreigners. The temperatures are pleasant more or less everywhere, there is relatively little rainfall, and the vegetation and colors are particularly beautiful. In any case, avoid the public holidays, when the major cities and tourist sites will be under attack!

Um die Highlights des chinesischen Festlands wie Shanghai, die Grosse Mauer, eine Flusskreuzfahrt auf dem Yangtze oder einen Besuch von Xi’an zu erleben, sollten Sie mit 2000 bis 3000 CHF pro Person für etwa zwei Wochen Reisezeit rechnen. Diese Spanne ist nur ein Richtwert. Wichtig ist, die gewünschten Aktivitäten und deren geografische Verteilung zu berücksichtigen, denn China ist ein riesiges Land.

Für eine erste Reise auf das chinesische Festland empfiehlt es sich, in Peking zu starten: Verbotene Stadt, Himmelstempel, Grosse Mauer. Danach geht es weiter nach Xi’an mit seinen Terrakotta-Kriegern, bevor Sie die Pandas in Sichuan besuchen. Shanghai fasziniert mit seiner Mischung aus Tradition und Moderne. Auch Zhujiajiao, das chinesische Venedig, ist einen Abstecher wert. Von Guilin aus locken die Reisterrassen und der Li-Fluss. Eine Bootsfahrt auf dem Jangtse ist ein Muss. Für Neugierige bieten sich ausserdem Yunnan, Lhasa oder Harbin an – das überraschende „kleine Russland“ Chinas.
Da China so gross ist, kann die eigenständige Planung einer Reise schnell kompliziert werden. Die Sprachbarriere ist dabei eine erste Herausforderung, denn selbst in den grossen Städten sprechen nur wenige Einheimische Englisch oder kennen das lateinische Alphabet.
Deshalb empfiehlt es sich sehr, einen zweisprachigen lokalen Guide zu engagieren. Die Zusammenarbeit mit einer lokalen Agentur, die sich im chinesischen Land bestens auskennt, garantiert Ihnen unkomplizierte und sorgenfreie China Ferien.
Die wichtigsten Feiertage 2025 beginnen mit dem chinesischen Neujahrsfest vom 28. Januar bis 4. Februar. Das Qingming-Fest folgt vom 4. bis 6. April, gefolgt vom Tag der Arbeit (1. bis 5. Mai).
Das Drachenbootfest wird vom 31. Mai bis 2. Juni zelebriert. Der Höhepunkt des Jahres findet im Herbst statt: Das Mondfest am 6. Oktober geht nahtlos in die Nationalfeiertagswoche vom 1. bis 8. Oktober über.
