Take advantage of being in Cairns to go inland and to go for a trip around the tropical forest.

My suggestion

You can swim in the saltwater lagoon on the esplanade. Visit the Great Barrier Reef. In the evening, go out to dinner at the Croc and Bull and party in the bars. Don't miss the crafts market of nearby Kuranda!
