450 km away from Alice Springs, Ayers Rock is an enormous red monolith. It is the most sacred place for the Aboriginal people who believe it to be the centre of the world.
My suggestion
Ayers Rock is a site of unique and unrivalled beauty. At sunset the rock turns from red to purple and nature's show becomes deeply captivating and enchanting.

Discover Uluru at sunrise or at sunset from the different points of view created for this purpose. Learn about aboriginal culture at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta cultural centre. Do the Mala Walk. Don't forget the Olga Mountains 30 km from Uluru.

You must have heard people talk about the "wet tropics" which is home 36% of the country's animal species.
