The Perito Moreno Glacier, in Argentine Patagonia, is one of the world's most impressive. Seeing it is one of the most memorable experiences you can have when visiting southern Argentina.

My suggestion

The Perito Moreno Glacier is easy to approach on foot via a special path that leads up to it. However, seeing it up close by boat, or even by trekking on the glacier itself, will make for an even more memorable experience.

Perito Moreno is one of the most famous glaciers in Argentine Patagonia. Perito Moreno is an unmissable experience, in the Los Glaciares National Park, less than two hours from El Calafate.

My suggestion

If possible, visit it in the afternoon. As the temperatures are higher you will be more likely to see some blocks of ice falling off...and it's a wonderful spectacle!

My suggestion

I recommend you get to Los Glaciares national park in the middle or towards the end of the afternoon when the tourist coaches will have already left. The walkways over the glacier will have a lot fewer people on them.
